Black Spot Snooker Grand Prix 2024 (1st edition)
The first Black Spot Snooker Grand Prix was played at THE BLACK SPOT, in Guéliz, Marrakech, from 15 to 18 November 2024. Salah Ktila won the title ahead of runner-up Saad El Antri and made a 124 break during the tournament. He also won the Shoot Out, the second competition held at the club that week.

The club's first Grand Prix
The Black Spot Snooker Grand Prix is THE BLACK SPOT's own snooker tournament. For the first edition, the club opened a draw of 64 places on a first come, first served basis, and a place was confirmed only once the entry fee was paid: 750 MAD for the Grand Prix and 250 MAD for the Shoot Out.
Play ran over four days, from Friday 15 to Monday 18 November 2024, on the club's snooker tables in Guéliz. The prize money was announced in advance, calculated for a full field of 64 players, and every player was asked to wear regulation snooker dress.
A 16-player qualifying event for the Grand Prix was also held two weeks earlier, on 3 November 2024, at Elite Academy in Rabat. Four players came through it: Rabie Chami, Amine Es Soufi, Oussama Malki and Ismail Ajghamou.
Format: from best of 5 to a best-of-9 final
The Grand Prix was a straight knockout. The official draw sheet set the last 16 for Sunday, over the best of 5 frames. The quarter-finals on Sunday evening and the semi-finals on Monday were best of 7, and the final was scheduled for 19:00 on Monday 18 November, over the best of 9 frames.
Results: Salah Ktila wins the first edition
Salah Ktila became the first winner of the Black Spot Snooker Grand Prix. In the final he faced Saad El Antri, the Black Spot Academy player nicknamed “The Joker”, who finished runner-up. Younes El Fatihi and Mourad Naitali went out in the semi-finals.
Salah Ktila also made the highest break of the tournament, a 124, which THE BLACK SPOT celebrated as a historic moment.
The Shoot Out, 1st edition
The Shoot Out was played at the club the same week, also with a 64-player draw. Salah Ktila won it as well, completing a double, and Hamza Rassid finished runner-up.
What came next
This first edition set up the club's next competitions: the Black Spot Amateur Snooker Tournament in April 2025, then the Black Spot Snooker Grand Prix II in December 2025, where players were seeded according to how far they went in this first edition. Saad El Antri, runner-up here, won that second edition.
